In Wales in the tiny city St Davids next to the St. David’s Cathedral in imposing ruins the Bishop’s Palace stands. In the Middle Ages based at St Davids of the church to the wealth and the great power testifies even after centuries of neglect the building’s enduring grandeur.

The history of the Bishop’s Palace:
In Wales the most important and largest medieval diocese was the St Davids. For the six century saint the patron saint of Wales Saint David’s relics the cathedral housed and of pilgrims’ substantial numbers attracted which includes the King William I who was the Conqueror.

With Bishop Henry Gower (from 1328 to 1347 before the appointment, the bishops lived in what type of accommodation or where it was uncertain. Near the cathedral would have been the episcopal residence, and on this site was probably, of the 12th century from as early as the end the west range dates. From a small cathedral shop after you buy your ticket, is by the gate house entrance to the site, in Gower’s time as well which was the entrance. Into a grassy courtyard the gatehouse opens, are grouped the main building around which.
