About the Baha’i Shrine and Gardens, Haifa, Israel:
The splendid Baha’i Shrine and Gardens is the most striking landmark of Haifa, of the city center located on the edge. In the Baha’i Faith it is the second holiest shrine. Completed in 2001 the immaculate Baha’i Gardens, to the founder of the Baha’i Faith are a tranquil memorial. To the first leaders of their religion to pay homage from all parts of the world pilgrims come to Haifa, across religions and cultures which emphasizes unity.
The history of the Baha’i Shrine and Gardens:
For the Baha’i Faith the international headquarters is the Haifa, in the mid-19th century in Persia which began amidst persecution. By architect William Sutherland Maxwell in the Neo-Classical style designed to the shrine a major enlargement over saw the Shaoghi Effendi from 1948 to 1953. Where meets the governing body of the Baha’i Faiths The Sear of the Universal House of Justice, in 1975-83 was added. In style it was also Neo-Classical, by architect Husayn Amanat it was designed. By architect Fariborz Sahba were designed the famous Baha’i Gardens and between 1990 and 2001 was constructed. Along with the tomb of Baha’u’llah in Acre and with the shrine as a World Heritage Site UNESCO named the Baha’i Shrine and Gardens in 2008.
At the Baha’i Shrine and Gardens what to see:
Entombs Baha’u’llah’s herald the huge domed Shrine of the Bab in the Haifa gardens. A spectacular sight is the tomb, in almost every nook and cranny with flowers and ornamental gold work. On worldwide religious unity of the Baha’i emphasis a visual symbol, of eastern and western style the shrine is blend.
