The China has a very old history of their own. As the historical symbol of China of the 20th century archeological excavation the most significant things are the Terracotta Army of Xi’an at China. At this site the work is still going on. It is 1.5 kilometer east from the Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum in Shaanxi province. It is like a site that the visitors of China do not to miss it.

Qin Shi Huang sat the throne at the age of only 13 and later of all China he was the first Emperor. In this ruling time he begun to work on his mausoleum which took 11 years to finish the work. There is a rumor in China that the Emperor Qin Shi Huang was buried with many sacrificial objects and treasures. In 1974 a group of workers while digging for a well which was near the royal tomb they discover some pottery. This incident caught the attention of the archeologist and they began to work on this site. By examined the artifacts they declares that those were from the Qin Dynasty (211-206 BC)

In 1975 the state council decided to build a museum on this site and now it is one of the most attractive visiting place for the visitors. At this museum the Terracotta Army and the horses were arranged in the battle formation. This statues are the replicas of the imperial guards of that times. The area of the museum is 16,300 square meters. There are three sections in this museum, No. 1 Pit, No.2 Pit and No.3 Pit. No. 1 Pit is the largest part of this museum and in 1979, 1st October this part was first time opened for the Chinese people on their National Day. In this part at the front there are soldiers columns and at the back followed by the war chariots.

From 20 meters northeast of the No. 1 Pit in 1976 the No. 2 Pit was found. There were 90 chariots and about thousand soldiers which made from wood. No. 2 Pit was opened for the public visit in 1994 and again in 1976, northwest from the No.1 Pit which was about 25 meters archeologist discovered the No. 3 Pit. The design of No. 3 Pit was like a command center for the soldiers. In 1989 with a war chariot, four horses and 68 soldiers No.3 Pit was opened for the visitors.

Among the soldiers there are generals, archers, infantrymen, chariot drivers and normal soldiers. Altogether there are 700 Terracotta soldiers, 400 horses and 100 chariots and each one of them is unique. Maximus statue was made from clay except some wooden statue. Every year 3.6 million to 4.5 million visitors come here to visit this museum.

Pyramids of Giza (Khufu’s Pyramid), Egypt:

The Egyptian civilization is one of the oldest civilization in the world. In that time Egyptian rulers the Pharaoh built Pyramids to protect their body after death. Among all the Pyramids the Great Pyramid of Giza is the biggest one. This Pyramid is also known as the Khufu’s Pyramid because it was built to preserve the death body of Pharaoh Khufu.

Pharaoh Khufu was the son of Pharaoh Snefru and in the royal necropolis of Giza he was the second Pharaoh of the 4th dynasty. The Giza is located in the north of modern Cairo. A Greek historian Herodotus said, “To build Khufu’s Pyramid Pharaoh Khufu enslaved his people and forced the slaves”. Once the desert of Giza known as the land of dead. In the Giza Plateau there are three Pyramids which guarded by the Great Sphinx, among these three Pyramids Khufu’s Pyramid is the biggest one.

The Khufu’s Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This Pyramid was built perfectly at the north by the builders. This Pyramid was built with 2.3 million stone blocks and the average weight of every block is 2.5 tons to 15 tons. By the estimation it come in our sight that in every two and a half minutes builders would have to set a block. This Pyramid was built about circa 2550 BC and today the total height of this Pyramid is 481 feet (147 meters). The Khufu’s Pyramid has three chambers for burial. Carved into the bedrock the first chamber is in underground. This chamber was used to keep the treasures and slave for the Pharaoh. Above the ground the second chamber is called the Queen’s chamber. May be it was used to bury the Khufu’s wives alive with his dead body because the Egyptian believed that after the death the Pharaoh will alive again and then he will need his wives, slaves and treasures. The top one and the third chamber is the King’s chamber. This chamber has a red granite sarcophagus exactly at the center of this Pyramid which placed. The height of the King’s chamber is 26 feet (8 meter), it also known as the Grand Gallery by sliding the granite blocking system sealed off the passage for thieves.

There are many small Pyramids around the Khufu’s Pyramid and this is in the center place of this vast complex. In this complex there are five boat pits, a causeway, a valley temple, a mortuary temple and for the officials and for the some members of the royal family many flat roofed tombs.

The building process of Pyramid is still a mystery to the modern world, surely we don’t know how Egyptian built this massive Pyramid and this adds extra attraction to the visitor. As World Heritage Site UNESCO announced this entire complex. Every year 4 million people come here to visit this great place in Egypt.
