Travel Golden Temple of Amritsar: Travel the holiest temple of Sikhism located in India

About the Golden Temple of Amritsar, India:
In Sikhism the holiest shrine is the Harmandir Sahib or the Hari Mandir which located in Amritsar of Punjab. This temple is commonly known as the Golden Temple, but in March 2005 this temple officially renamed as the Harmandir Sahib. From all over the world for the Sikhs one of the major pilgrimage destination is the Golden Temple or the Gurdwara, but it also popular as the tourist attraction and its popularity increasing day by day. With the sacredness and the fervor of religion is completely alive still this Golden Temple like many historical pilgrimage sites and in this experience to join are always welcomed the visitors. Although a great architectural and historical fact has the temple itself, for the believers of Sikh it is the spiritual meaning of the Golden Temple which is great and to the visitors it is also memorable. With the devotion which vibrant and rich exceptionally with that in a country the Golden Temple is one of the most spiritual place.

The history of the Golden Temple:
In 1574 the construction work of the Golden Temple was began and this land was donated by one of the richest and strongest Mughal emperor Akbar. By the Sikh Gurus of fourth and fifth was overseen this construction project. In 1601 was completed this temple, but over the next years were continued the embellishment and restoration. In 1760 after it was sacked substantially had to be rebuilt this Golden Temple. At the inverted dome of lotus shaped were applied the 100 kg of gold in the early period of 19th century and also added the decorative marble. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, under the patronage of him were took place all this work of marble and gold. For this beautiful shrine of the materials and money a major was the Maharaja Ranjit Singh who was a legendary warrior king and by the Punjabi people and Sikh community with the affection of so much is remembered.

At the Golden Temple what to see:
Like the other Sikh temples for the visitors the Golden Temple is open despite the status of great sacred. But drink alcohol, smoke or eat meat in this shrine is prohibited. Here the visitors can feel the truly welcome and anything to buy they are not pressured. The visitors can get helpful information and advice from the information office which located on the left side of the main entrance. On the Sikhism there is also a booklets. The Hari Mandir or the Divine Temple which also known as the Darbar Sahib or as the Court of the Lord is the most sacred part of the famous Golden Temple complex, with a large body of water at the center which is an amazing golden structure. White marble walls and copper cupolas features the gold-plated building and in the patterns of decorative Islamic style floral arranged with the precious stones.

The Amrit Sarovar or the Pool of Nectar is the sacred pool of the Hari Mandir which also surround this temple. The visitors also can explore the Guru’s Bridge which is a spectacular marble causeway, a magnificent silver door which known as the Darshani Deorhi and to the bridge also the gateway, the dining hall to fed about 35,000 people for free at a time the Guru-ka-Langar and at the main entrance the Central Sikh Museum.
