The Orientation of the Kyoto:
Architecturally the Kyoto is one of the most beautiful city in the world but the Kyoto was originally designed long before from the present time. The Chinese capital Chang’an (Xi’an in present days) decided to copy the planners of the Kyoto way back to the 794 and a grid pattern adopt, in the city core to this days which persists. Numbered the streets west to east, up north with Ichijo-dori means ‘First Street’ and down south Jujo-dori means ‘Tenth Street’, but to the names of the north-south streets there is no obvious pattern.
