About the Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre shrine, Sanite-Anne de Beaupre, Canada:
On the St Lawrence River in the shores a tiny town is the Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre, in Canada above Quebec City about 20 miles. To the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre is home the village and also named for the village, a major shrine of Catholic and of healing the place which per year a million pilgrims more than attacks.

The history of the Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre shrine:
Of St. Anne a miraculous statue to house in 1658 by the early settlers on this site was built the first chapel. Between the 1661 and 1676 of wood and stone was constructed of St. Anne a second church, of the old cemetery in the present site it was located. In 1676 of stone was built a third church, and in 1876 by a basilica it was replaced until remained in use. In 1878 was demolished the old church, but of its transept on the foundations was constructed the Memorial Chapel.

The patron saint of Quebec was proclaimed the Saint Anne in 1876. For the worship was opened of Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre the first Basilica which than the previous church much larger. In 1892 by the pope was sent to Beaupre of St. Anne when a relic, in New York it stopped, first appearance of its was cured where an epileptic. Followed the great excitement, and from on that point tremendously increased in Canada to the Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre the pilgrims from America.

On March 29 in 1922 by the fire was destroyed tragically the first basilica. By the present basilica it was replaced, in 1926 was completed which. On July 4, 1976 the basilica constructed the Cardinal Maurice Roy, and on September 10, 1984 the shrine was visited by the Pope John Paul II.

At the Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre shrine what to see:
