The Hallgrimskirkja is a Lutheran parish church, after the Icelandic clergyman and poet Hallgrimur Petursson (from 1614 to 1674) is named the Hallgrimskirkja, of the beloved Passiusalmar (also known as the Hymns of the Passion) and other works who was the author. During the Age of Orthodoxy among the most influential pastors he was the one and many important hymns of Lutheran he wrote.
