What to see at the Charleston:
There is a Visitors Reception and Transportation center in the Charleston and this is the best place for start the travel in Charleston. From the downtown terminus of I-26 which located in northwest it is not so far. You can find the travelers map and guides from the visitors center and information about a tour to a museum which is small but related and also dedicated to the history of Charleston, there are also few book about the other tours and for the cost of $2 over Charleston an introductory film you can watch.
● The history tours of Charleston – With the guide you can explore the beauty, tradition, culture, art, architecture and history of the Charleston and the guides whose knowledge is unmatched about the Charleston will help you. It’s a walking tour of about 2 hours but you can customize the tour according to your interest, the unique photographs for capturing you can choose various locations, you can also choose cobblestone streets, sites of Revolutionary and Civil War, slave history, secret passageways, and magnificent mansions with architectural beauty, graceful gardens and also the graveyards which are mysterious. ● The Charleston Museum – From the visitors center across the street in 260 Meeting St. is located the Charleston Museum. If you want to know about the history of the Charleston you should start your travel with this museum. This museum is open daily and an admission fee of $10 will cost for the adults.
● The Battery and White Point Gardens – With the amazing views in the Charleston peninsula at the southern tip is located this park, especially by the Cooper River along with the Battery Promenade. Along the Promenade the historic mansions which are elegant you should not miss those. For about $20 million some of those have sold.
● The French Quarter – Once located where the English colonial between the waterfront and Meeting, Tradd and S. Market now is located the French Quarter. For the historic architecture, French Huguenot Church, St. Philips Church and for the art galleries of its is well known.
● The Fort Sumter – For start of Civil War as the site and as the National Monument Fort Sumter island site is well known and famous. In Mt. Pleasant from the Patriot’s Point or in downtown from the Liberty Square for the cost of extra charge a ferry you must board to reach in this site. It will take about 30 minutes by ferry to reach. Now this site is in ruins condition, but used to be where the things there are markers for the visitors and a museum too.
● The Market – Located at the Market St. it is a shopping district and old too. But here the wares still sells the vendors. According to the legend, a slave exchange was never this Market. However, away of a few blocks are located for an old slave market the remnants.
