At the Anuradhapura what to see:
Jetavanarama is the largest stupa in the Anuradhapura, in Ceylon by the King Mahasen (from 273 to 301 AD) was built, it is possibly the largest stupa in the whole world. To be enshrined here is believed by the Buddha of a sash tied a part. 120 meters (about 400 feet) is said its height. In the whole world as the largest stupa this is considered. To the Sagalika sect belongs this stupa. About 3 ha (about 8 acres) for the stupa the compound area. In depth 176 meter (about 576 feet) is one side of the stupa it is said. 8.5 meters (27 feet) in depth at the four sides of the steps the 4 flight. At the courtyard which is located to the shrine the doorpost in height is 8 meters (about 27 feet). It has an underground of 0.3 meter (about 1 feet). In the courtyard some stone inscriptions there are inscribed of the donors with the name.

After defeating the King Elara Mirisaveti Stupa was built by the King Dutugamunu. In the scepter the Buddha relics after placing, leaving the scepter for a bath to Tisawewa he had gone. To the palace he returned after the bath where was placed the scepter, and be moved it could not it is said that by the legends. Where the scepter in the place stood was built the stupa. To the sangha without offering a chilly curry that he partook he remembered that it is said also. The Mirisavetiya Dagaba he built himself in order to punish. By the King Valagamba was built the Lankarama, at the Galhebakada in an ancient place, of the stupa about the form of ancient nothing is known, and renovated this was later. The row of stone pillars there are that show the ruins. Above the ground seems to be 3 meters (about 10 feet) for this stupa the courtyard which is round. 14 meters (about 45 feet) is the diameter of this stupa. In shape is circular the courtyard and 406 meters (about 133 feet) is the diameter.

Near the Tisawewa is situated the Isurumuniya and by the King Devanampiyatissa it was built of high caste 500 children of newly ordained to house. This viharaya was renovated by the Ling Kasyapa I (from 473 to 491 AD) and as ‘Boupulvan, Kasubgiri Radmaha Vehera’ named it. From his name and from his 2 daughters name is derived this name. To a cave connected there is a viharaya and there is a cliff above. On it was built a small stupa, of a cleft on the both sides lower down, of a pool to rise out which appears in a rock, the figures of the elephants have been carved. The figure of a horse is carved on the rock. From another place has been brought on the slab of the Isurumuniya lovers the carvings. There is the Magul Uyana from this vihara away a few yards.
