The history of the Taj Mahal:
To house the tomb of the third wife whose name was Mumtaz Mahal of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan by the emperor in 1632 is commissioned the Taj Mahal, of the Yamuna River on the southern bank stands the Taj Mahal. In India as the jewel of Muslim art is recognized widely the mausoleum and among the structures of the world one of the most celebrated remains and of the rich history of the India a symbol.

For the Mughal architecture as the best example regarded by many. From the Ottoman Turkish, Islamic, Persian and Indian architectural style as well as combining elements it is the perfect blend. Actually with the many structures is a complex of integrated of the Taj Mahal of white marble domed the famous mausoleum complex. About 1632 was began the construction and in 1653 in about 22 years was completed, throughout the empire about 20,000 craftsman and artisans were employing. To a board of architects was entrusted the construction, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri probably being the chief architect for this project. In 1983 as the World Heritage Site of UNESCO it was designated.

 In the walled city of Agra to the south side of the land on a parcel was built the Taj Mahal. For the land in exchange in the center of Agra a large palace presented the Maharajah Jai Singh the emperor Shah Jahan. Roughly was excavated of three acres an area, to reduce the seepage with the dirt filed and above the riverbank about 160 feet or 50 meters were leveled. In the area of the tomb, were dug the wells and with the stone filled and of the tomb to form the footings rubble. The bamboo lashed instead of a brick scaffold of colossal constructed the workmen the tomb which mirrored. So enormous was the scaffold that to dismantle years it would take estimated the foremen.

The emperor Shah Jahan decreed that from the scaffold taken the bricks anyone could keep and thus overnight by the peasants it was dismantled, according to the legend. To the construction site to transport the materials and marble was built a tamped earth ramp of about 15 kilometers or 9.3 miles and on wagons which were constructed specially pulled the blocks 20 or 30 oxen teams. Into the desired position the blocks to raise was used the pulley system of elaborate post and beam, of purs by a series from the river was drawn the water, purs was a machine rope and bucket which powered by the animals, into a storage tank which was large was reserved and to a distribution tank of large size raised. Into the 3 subsidiary tanks it was passed, to the complex it was piped from which.

To complete about 12 years took the tomb and the plinth. An additional 10 years took of the complex the remaining parts and of minarets in order were completed, the gateway, jawab and mosque. In stages was built since the complex, on completion differing opinions due to in completion dates exists the discrepancies.
